If you live in a area that’s gets any decent amount snow/ice, snow tires are a very wise investment. My friend learned this lesson the hard way today after Pittsburgh got a surprising amount of snow with some ice underneath it.

Although he wasn’t traveling very fast, <20, he was not able to stop, thus running into another vehicle. Not sure what tires are on his car, but I imagine they’re something crappy the dealer put on.

Damage doesn’t look crazy bad, but dealing with insurance is never pleasurable. Stay safe out there, Oppo’s!

Clearly if he had AWD this wouldn’t have happened. Now the logical solution is to sell this car immediately and get an AWD “SUV” and he be fine. If he already had one and still this happened, time to upgrade to an even bigger “SUV” just to be safe.

Well, the even bigger SUV with more weight would put down more ground pressure which equals more traction, especially with the wider wheels it will inevitably come with from the dealership. That’s how physics work, right?

with all the hills, bridges and right in the sleet belt, I wouldn’t dream of living there without winter tires.
